Overview

Spotted wing drosophila (Drosophila suzukii) is a tiny vinegar fly that was first discovered in the Pacific Northwest in 2008. Unlike most vinegar flies, spotted wing drosophila attacks healthy, undamaged fruit. It has quickly established outposts in nearly every fruit and berry-growing region of North America.

Developed and managed by the Northeastern Integrated Pest Management Center and the Department of Entomology at Rutgers University.
